Donald Teemsma loves SDSU. Not because he went to school here, simply because he thinks that being a good neighbor is important. He likes the Aztec Athletics teams and has been involved in fund raising to support our teams and athletes, he’s taken courses here through Extended Studies, and he’s been a part of the President’s Round Table. Of course, Don is also a member of the Aztec Recreation Center, too. Not just an ordinary member, but a man who exercises here five days per week since 1999.
Teemsma says he found out about the ARC in early '99 while researching for a Personal Trainer, when he found Randy Shelton his search was over. Teemsma says that “ARC trainers are tops.” He worked with Shelton for several years and is now doing workouts on his own. His typical workout consists of 30-40 minutes of cardio on the Woodways followed by some resistance work. He likes the Woodway because of the tread system which he says is “forgiving” in the sense that it is the best on human joints of any treadmill technology.
When asking Teemsma about his favorite aspects of the ARC he says “ARC equipment variety and quantity is unparalleled in town.” He thinks the staff is great, too, and his only request is that we open a little earlier on Saturdays. |
