Ohana Spirit Award
Award Winner: Ice Hockey (2010-11)
The Ohana Spirit Award encourages and promotes the activities that maximize and enrich the experience of every Sport Club athlete and their team. It is meant to unite all teams and to help get the community more involved. This award is presented to the Sport Club team who has committed their efforts towards supporting their peers within the Sport Club community, making spirited contributions to Sport Club athletes and their team. In order to be a recipient, participation is required from all 18 Sport Clubs which is measured on a point system.
Official Ohana Rules
- Ohana points are awarded to teams who attend events and competitions on the specific "Ohana Event List".
- For all Sport Club Sponsored events, it is required that at least one team member is in attendance. 25 points will be awarded to teams who participate in these Sport Club Sponsored events.
- Any Sport Club Sponsored event that is not participated in by at least one team member will result in 25 Ohana points SUBTRACTED from your total.
- A signed and dated sign-in sheet is required and needs to be turned in to the Ohana Committee leader or folder to receive points for the attended event. YOU MUST USE THE OFFICIAL OHANA SHEET OR YOUR POINTS WILL NOT BE GIVEN TO YOU!
- Each attendee needs to sign in, and the sheet needs to have an official approval of attendance with a signature of a member of the event you supported.
- 5 points are awarded to every team member that attended the event or competition.
- 10 points are awarded to team members that attend any away event or competition.
- Team members are allowed to bring family members or friends along to competitions or events to represent for your team. Their names must be on the sign in sheet as well.
- Along with the Ohana Cup, the winning team will receive a grand prize of $200 added to their account from the Sport Club.
- Any false attendance will result in disqualified team participation, disabling the team from receiving the grand prize.
