Class Description:

This class is designed to give you the foundation of Salsa dancing’s three positions (free style, open and closed) in East Coast and West Coast style Salsa. You will learn transitions in and out of all three positions, how to lead or follow a partner, and some turns to "wow" them on the dance floor. You will listen to Salsa music to identify the Salsa beat and learn "Cuban" hip motion. The class will also give you an introduction and explanation of Bachata, club style Cha-cha and Merengue.

Class Description:

This class is for dancers with a previous hip hop background. Perfect for previous students who have taken ENS 138 Beginning Hip Hop. Learn a mix of dance moves, which vary in level and style, over this 12 week course. Develop a familiarity for picking up choreography at a fast pace while gaining confidence with advanced movement. Each class starts with a warm up exercise and a variety of routines will be taught throughout the semester. Build your dance skill and advanced technique in a friendly environment that promotes self-expression and creative movement.

Class Description:

This is an introductory course to single time/triple time East coast swing, Lindy Hop, 1930’s Charleston and Balboa dancing. The course includes the study, analysis, practice, and development of social dance etiquette, technique, and proficiency in the fundamental skills of early American style rhythm dances.
