This course introduces students to the basic concepts of outdoor recreation first aid. For eight, one hour and 40 minutes sessions plus a required weekend certification, students will attend lectures and participate in activities preparing individuals to attend and pass the weekend certification training. The comprehensive medical training course is designed for outdoor recreationalists or wilderness trip leaders who venture into moderately remote and challenging environments. Students will learn about personal & group safety, back country medical care, first aid techniques, and camping ethics.
