How to Join The Men’s Soccer Team

General Information:

The SDSU Sport Club Program consists of 20 competitive collegiate club teams. Each club team is developed, organized, and managed by students with guidance from the Intramural & Sport Club Coordinator, the Intramural & Sport Club Supervisor and club team coaches. The emphasis for sport club activities is leadership. Sport Clubs thrive only by obtaining active student involvement and participation from club team leaders and its members.

SDSU sport clubs meet, practice and compete in a variety of locations on and off campus. On campus facilities include: Aztec Recreation Center (ARC), Peterson Gym, Athletic/Recreation Turf Fields, and Aquaplex. Off campus facilities include: Mission Bay Aquatic Center (MBAC), Ray & Joan Kroc Center, San Diego Ice Arena, Iceoplex (Escondido), Robb Field (Ocean Beach), and Qualcomm Stadium (Little Q). On and off campus practice/competitions are usually held between 3:00pm and 10:00pm Monday through Friday, while weekend practice/competitions are held between 8:00am-10:00pm.

How to Join a Sports Club Team?

Club Team Eligibility Requirements:

All regularly enrolled students and/or dual-admitted students with 6 or more units of coursework at San Diego State University (SDSU). Meet the eligibility standards of a sports’ respective governing body, league, or association. Active Aztec Recreation Center membership.

Faculty, staff, and individuals enrolled through the ALI (American Language Institute), Open University, or the Extended Studies programs are NOT allowed to participate.

Club Team Tryouts/Meetings:

Sports Club teams constantly graduate students and are looking add potential members. Each club team maintains a competitive roster according to their respective sport. Tryout and meeting dates and times vary for each team.

Club Team Fees:

Each club team has a different fee structure. The amount charged to its members varies from team to team. Fees go to support the cost of operating the team, such as travel expenses, uniforms, and equipment.
