With two solar-heated pools, a spa, basketball court, diving boards, and a spacious deck the Aquaplex is the perfect venue for your next event. Aquaplex Event Rentals

The Aztec Aquaplex is the perfect place for your next event. Whether you have a team looking for practice space or a group looking for a space to have a party and celebrate, the Aquaplex is great outdoor venue for events of all sizes. Facility rentals for the on-deck suite and pool areas are available on a first come first serve basis. Event Party Rental Details

OUR EVENT RENTAL INCLUDES:
  • Admission for 20 guests (*including the host group)
  • 2 hours of unlimited access to Aztec Aquaplex facilities
  • Private on-deck suite, 4 tables, 30 chairs & access to kitchenette
  • Cost $150 (*$50 deposit due at the time of booking, to be applied to the event total)

Event Party Rental Add On Options

  • 1 hour of exclusive Aquaplex inflatable obstacle course time ($100)
  • 30 minutes of exclusive diving board time ($25)
  • 30 minutes of lifeguard games ($25/per lifeguard)
  • Additional guests ($5/youth & $6/adult)

About Aquaplex Event Rentals:

  • Aztec Aquaplex Event Party Reservations include the use of the Aquaplex on deck suite, four (4) 6-foot folding tables, & 30 chairs for the duration of the reserved time. Additional tables and chairs may be reserved prior to the event date at the additional cost of $10/table and $10 for 10-chairs.
  • Reservations start and end times are as scheduled. Party hosts may come in up to fifteen (15) minutes ahead of event time to “set-up” and have an extra fifteen (15) minutes after event for clean-up. All event hosts are responsible for event clean up. A chargeback ($25/hour) will be charged for any additional cleaning after the event “clean-up time” has ended.
  • Aztec Shops holds exclusive campus catering rights. For your catering needs, please contact Aztec Shops at 619-594-7461. Ensure you give more than (10) days advanced notice. No other caterers will be allowed at the Aztec Aquaplex unless Aztec Shops grants a written waiver.
  • Event rentals wishing to “self-cater” their event may do so with prior approval from Aquaplex staff. Self-cater is defined as food and beverage brought onto campus by hosts of the party. These items can include any pre-prepared food items and/or beverages.
  • A chargeback will be required if  use of the Aquaplex facilities results in damage or additional clean-up. The amount of the chargeback will be determined by the severity of the repair or clean-up required.
  • All reservations are subject to availability and prices are subject to change.  The Event Reservation Agreement must be signed, and event payment must be received to complete registration.

Event Rental Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is the host family excluded in the count of 20 individuals?
A: The host family is included in the paid twenty (20)individual admission count. Any additional guest that exceeds the included twenty (20) guest count will be an additional cost per person, equal to an Aquaplex day pass. ($5 for youth & $6 for adults). Any additional event guests must be “pre-paid” prior to the event.

Q: Does every person that attends the event need to sign a waiver?
A: Yes, all persons that enter the Aquaplex facility are required to sign a waiver. Guest over the age of 18 are required to have valid photo identification (SDSU Red ID, state issued ID or Driver’s license, or passport) and fill out a guest waiver form. Guest under 18 years old will need a signed youth waiver form filled out by a parent or guardian. *Youth Waiver forms can be found online at aztecaquaplex.sdsu.edu

Q: Where do guests park for our Aquaplex event?
A: There are several choices near the Aquaplex for visitor parking. The closest parking is metered parking available in front of the Aquaplex facility in Lot "R" as well as lot "T". Hourly metered parking is also available in Parking structure 5 on the corner of 55th and Montezuma Road. When parking in Parking structure 5, park on the lower level and exit the structure at its northwest corner, then walk northwest, passing two athletic fields to the Aquaplex. Parking permits are available to purchase from the closest parking kiosk at price of $2 an hour.

Q: What is the Aquaplex swim test requirement?
A: The swim test requirement is in place to ensure that participating youth are strong enough swimmers to participate in various activities that the Aquaplex has to offer. The first part of the swim test consists of swimming 25 yards freestyle at the surface without stopping or touching the bottom of the pool. The second part of the test consists of treading water for 30 seconds.
Passing the swim test ensures that the child is a strong enough swimmer to use our inflatable obstacle course, basketball area, and diving boards. If a child does not pass the swim test they will be restricted to our family swim area which goes from 0ft-3ft deep.

Q: Are swim diapers required for children under 4 years old?
A: Yes, swim diapers are required for younger children for sanitation concerns. The Aquaplex does have swim diapers available for purchase at the front desk for $7 each. You may also use a swim diaper of your choice subject to approval by the Aquaplex staff.

Q: What are lifeguard games?
A: The lifeguard games “event add-on” option is 30 minutes of pool games and activities run exclusively for the event rental group by our Aquaplex Lifeguards. This engaging session is tailored specifically to the ages and skill levels of your rental group with a recommended ratio of 1:10 youth participants per lifeguard (*depending on participants ages).

Q: What is the Aquaplex event rental refund policy?
A: A $50 event rental deposit is due at time of booking to secure a date and time. Initial $50 deposit is fully refundable up to 7 business days prior to the event. The remainder of the event rental balance is due no later than 7 business days prior to the event. If the event is cancelled by the Aztec Aquaplex as a result of a facility emergency or inclement weather a full refund will be issued.
