Gear rental is available to current SDSU students, faculty, and staff with an active Aztec Recreation membership. From sleeping bags and tents to accessories, we have what you need for a great trip.

Gear rental is located in the ARC Climbing Wall office.
Please ask a climbing wall staff for assistance when you arrive.

Gear Rental Policies
RENTAL PERIODS:
DAY/OVERNIGHT - This allows rental of an item until the climbing wall closes the next day.
WEEKEND - This allows rental of an item from Thursday to Monday. Gear must be returned before the climbing wall closes the next day.
WEEK - This allows rental of an item for a full week. For example: if an item is rented on Tuesday, it is due the following Tuesday.
RENTAL & PICK-UP:
All rentals must be picked up in-person during open climbing hours at the Aztec Recreation Climbing Wall. Full payment of the rental cost is due at pick up. Individuals will be required to complete and sign the Gear Rental Agreement before gear is issued. Rental gear may be checked out for up to 7 days at a time. Longer rentals will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Reservations may be requested via the Reservation Request button below, no sooner than 7 days and no later than 24 hours prior to the requested start date. Reservations are not guaranteed and are not confirmed until you receive an email from a climbing wall staff confirming your reservation. Reservations may not be taken by phone or by email. You may call ahead to check availability before submitting a request for an item. Gear availability may vary based on item and demand.
CANCELLATIONS:
Please email us at aztecadv@sdsu.edu to cancel a reservation.
RETURNS:
All returns must be made during Aztec Recreation Climbing Wall hours. Please return gear at least one hour before closing if possible. DO NOT leave equipment at the Aztec Recreation membership desk or outside of the climbing wall office after close.
REPAIRS, CLEANING, AND DAMAGE:
Allow 15–30 minutes for items to be initially inspected upon return. All gear must be returned clean and dry. Please do not launder sleeping bags or tents.
A final inspection will occur within 2 business days. Individuals will be notified of any damage found and invoiced the fee for repair or replacement.
The renter is responsible for paying all necessary repair work including shipping and handling fees. Cleaning, repair, and damage fees will be determined by rental staff on a case-by-case basis.
LATE RETURN FEE:
Equipment returned late will be assessed the daily charge per day late.
THEFT AND LOST GEAR:
The Associated Students/Aztec Recreation staff are not responsible for the loss or theft of rented gear. If equipment is not returned 2 weeks after the original return date, the renter will be charged a replacement fee.
