We continue to follow stringent sanitation and disinfecting protocols and have additional procedures in place to achieve a new level of cleanliness.

Cleaning Surfaces Illustration

Deep Cleans

  • Continuous scheduled disinfection of high-touch surfaces throughout our facilities.
  • Hours are adjusted to allow for overnight deep cleaning.
  • Reservations allow for consistent and frequent daily deep cleaning.

Enhanced Disinfecting

  • Electrostatic spray disinfecting equipment has been added to the tools used by our trained team of professional custodial service providers.

Self-Cleaning Stations

  • Easy to use and conveniently located, we have added numerous new self-cleaning stations.
  • Equipment cleaning tags are readily available to indicate cleaning is required.
Physical Distance (6 feet) Illustration

Physical Distancing

We are taking thoughtful actions to facilitate physical distancing. Look for extra signs to guide you through each space and help us all practice physical distancing.

Equipment Distancing

  • Throughout our facilities, fitness equipment will be spaced to allow 6 feet or more of physical distancing. Where equipment cannot be moved, you will see signs indicating equipment is unavailable.

Reservation System

  • We have a new reservation system to ensure physical distancing capacity limits.
  • Reservations will be required to visit Aztec Recreation facilities and participate in programs.
  • Reservations may be booked 48 hours to one hour in advance and members may have one reservation per facility per day and up to three reservations booked at one time.

Area Capacities

  • There are capacity limits for sections of the ARC to enable proper distancing within the facility.

Q: How do I make a reservation?

A: Please visit our reservation webpage and follow the instructions to establish your online membership account. Please note that reservations are only for individual members and may be booked from 48 hours to one hour in advance. You may have one booking per day and up to three bookings at any given time.

Q: What if I cannot attend during my reservation time?

A: We ask that you cancel your reservation at least two hours in advance to open spots for other members. To cancel a reservation, follow the instructions on our reservation webpage.

Q: Why can’t I book a reservation?

A: If you have already established your secure account, check to ensure you have fewer than three bookings. Visit our secure website and select “Account Information” > “Reservation Report”, then enter a date range and select “Show Report”. If you have three bookings on file, you will need to cancel one in order to add a new reservation. Reservations can be made one hour to 48 hours in advance of the start time. If you are unable to establish your secure account or need further assistance, please contact our member services team at (619) 594-0194.

Q: What if I don’t pass the temperature check?

A: You will not be allowed access to the facility. Please stay home when you are not feeling well, except to get medical care. This is important for your safety and the safety of others.

Q: Do I have to wear a mask while I’m working out?

A: All participants must wear a face covering at all times in facilities and shared outdoor spaces. Face coverings are not required while lap swimming at the Aquaplex.

Q: Why are the lockers and showers closed?

A: We are making an effort to reduce touch points for our members. Lockers and showers are high touch point zones which would require greater detailed closure throughout the day to maintain. By reducing touch points, we can clean and disinfect the facilities thoroughly throughout daily operations.

Q: When will you open the climbing wall?

A: The climbing wall will be closed to comply with current safety guidelines for indoor activities. Drop-in climbing wall will be unavailable until further guidance allows.

Q: When are the fields going to open?

Q: When are the racquetball courts going to open?

A: The indoor racquetball courts will be closed to comply with current safety guidelines for indoor activities. Drop-in racquetball will be unavailable until further guidance allows.

Q: Why is there no equipment check out?
