Training Philosophy
Sustainability and longevity are my mottos when it comes to strength training and exercise. I love to teach people of all ages and all fitness levels how to stick to their exercise routine for the long run, and how to manage their body aches and pains. Whether you’re a student, faculty member, or a community member, body aches are inevitable, and it is easy to get thrown off your exercise routine when you’re such a busy person or in pain. With my coaching, I will help rid you of your body aches, help you stick to a workout plan even when life gets in the way, and I will meet you where you’re at physically and mentally.

Bio:
I was very fortunate to grow up in a household where strength training was part of my daily life. My dad always kept dumbbells in the house, and I started lifting weights with him when I was 11. I now have over 15 years experience with weight training, but to get to where I’m at now took a long time. When I was a teenager I overtrained a lot and often burnt myself out physically and mentally. In my late teens I overtrained again and hurt my low back. Although my dad taught me how to lift weights, I wasn’t taught how to exercise for the long run to keep myself healthy. There is such a thing as overtraining! I hurt myself several times as a teenager and in my early 20’s. Now that I’m nearing 30, my methods when it comes to strength training are the following: enjoy the exercises, something is better than nothing, and do exercises that make you feel good physically and mentally. This is now what I teach to my clients. I am a fulltime student at SDSU, so this approach is the best for me because it allows me to go to school full time, work full time and still maintain good exercise habits. I am looking forward to coaching you all on how to keep your bodies healthy even when you are busy or have no motivation to get to the gym. I believe this approach is safe and will get anyone to achieve their goals.
