MEDITATION offers a refined awareness and deep concentration that improves the quality of your personal and work experiences. This program is an opportunity for interested faculty and staff to practice mental training strategies that derive from ancient cultures as well as our own. Time will be spent in teaching, practice and discussion. Handouts will be offered periodically. Please feel free to attend any class throughout the series. No prior experience with meditation is required, just a desire to begin.

Meditation Instructor:

Lauren Knuth After graduating from the University of Colorado, Lauren spent ten years in the corporate world, not enjoying it much and doing a ton of yoga to compensate. After having two babies in two years, Lauren and her husband, in an effort to adjust to life with small children, took a formal course in transcendental meditation. That experience was life changing and afterwards Lauren immersed herself in mediation and mindfulness practice and research. She made the decision to not go back to the cubicle and instead pursue a career doing what she loves – teaching yoga & meditation. She has been practicing yoga for over 12 years, currently teaches at the ARC, and enjoys teaching multiple styles, all the way from a vigorous vinyasa flow to a meditative restorative yoga. In meditation, her teaching primarily focuses on mantra, breath based and metta (loving kindness) practices.
