About Us
Aztec Recreation provides high quality programs, services and facilities that inspire active, healthy living and enhance the SDSU experience. Aztec Recreation Aquaplex Youth Programs are based on the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program. Our certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors provide students of all ages and abilities with a positive and safe learning environment to develop and improve aquatic skills.
What to Expect
DUE TO COVID-19
- Stay home if anyone in the house is sick.
- Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the lesson start time and queue in the designated lesson entrance area.
- For individuals who ARE fully up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations, including a booster dose (if eligible for a booster), facial coverings are recommended, but not required while indoors.
- Individuals who are NOT fully up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccinations, including a booster dose (if eligible for a booster), must wear facial coverings at all times while indoors and outdoors when unable to maintain six feet of distance from others.
For students – Swimmers should have a swim suit, towel, and be ready to have fun in the water for every lesson. Goggles and caps are optional for all levels. We highly recommended wearing sunscreen and additionally rash guard shirts are allowed for all classes except Intro to Springboard Diving (*for safety purposes) .
For parents – Parents are required to accompany their children starting from swim lesson check in and remain at the facility during their child’s lesson for safety and security reasons. For safety purposes, child “drop off” is not allowed, and any children dropped off will not be allowed into the facility. Parents may watch lessons from a designated pool deck area. Only children enrolled in the Youth Program classes are allowed in the pool with an Aquaplex Aquatic Instructor and only during their designated class time.
