- First time ARC Wall Climbers must successfully complete our Safety Orientation Training.
- No climbing, bouldering, fitness stretching or use of the climbing wall features or padded area when the wall is closed.
- Climbers must sign in and out with the Wall Attendant before and after climbing.
- Climbers must visually and verbally check the safety systems with climbing partners before each climb/belay using climbing commands.
- Climbing shoes are required in order to participate (see ARC Wall Office). Staff reserves the right to inspect all personal climbing harnesses. Personal hardware such as belay devices is prohibited.
- All borrowed equipment is to be retuned to the ARC Wall Climbing Attendants upon the completion of one’s climbing session.
- Personal belongings (gym bag, book bag, backpack, duffel bag, purse, clothing, shoes, and/or other possessions) should be properly stored in a locker or cubby.
- No food or drink (other than plastic water bottles) is allowed.
- Aztec Recreation Facilities and programs are alcohol, drug, tobacco and narcotics free. Anyone possessing or suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or other substances shall be asked to leave.
- Use of obscenity, lewd, obscene or indecent behavior, insulting language, fighting aggressive/threatening behavior, and swearing are prohibited. Harassment, taunting, bullying and/or hazing of other members or staff are prohibited.
- The use of any equipment that takes still or moving pictures including video tape recorders, smart phones and movie cameras are prohibited inside Aztec Recreation Facilities.
- Aztec Recreation is not responsible for stolen items. Members are encouraged to contact University Police at 594-1991 to report stolen items.
- Aztec Recreation reserves the right to change or amend these policies as deemed necessary for the safety and functionality of the facility, program, or activity. Compliance with Aztec Recreation staff is expected at all times. Failure to comply with staff and interpreted policies may result in suspension or termination of membership. Aztec Recreation reserves the right to refuse service.
