The ENS 138 Advanced swim fitness is an activity based course designed for students interested in refining their competitive swim strokes and overall fitness level. This course focuses on the refinement of all four (4) competitive swimming strokes. Other topics include: aerobic vs anaerobic swim exercises, short and long term training methods, competitive stroke drills, utilizing pace clocks, interval based speed and endurance training, and how to develop swim sets to reach personal goals.
REQUIRED COURSE PREREQUISITES: Basic knowledge and demonstration of swimming competitive swim strokes including the front crawl (freestyle), back crawl (backstroke), breaststroke and butterfly. Students are not required to have a competitive swimming background; however students must be comfortable with swimming approximately 45 minutes.
