Jasmine Burell
Throws Coach
Jasmine Burrell has over 10 years of competitive track and field experience. While in high school, she earned four high school letters, was a Pioneer League Champion, and an eventual California State Champion in discus and shotput. She was then recruited to San Diego State University and went on to compete in four indoor Mountain West (MW) Championships, four outdoor MW Championships, and one outdoor NCAA Championships between 2011-2015. Burrell was named to three all-MW indoor and four all-MW outdoor track and field teams. Her coaching journey started in 2016; she was recruited to join the Flo Jo USA Track & Field Youth Track Club as the throws coach and soon after she began coaching professional, collegiate, masters, and youth track & field athletes. In 2019, she volunteered with the San Diego State Women’s Track Team Heptathletes. In that same year, Burrell began coaching the SDSU Adapted Athletics Track & Field Program as the Throws Coach. Burrell has a certification as a T & F Throwing Events Specialist and graduated from San Diego State University (2015) with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.
Isaac Jean Paul
Sprints Coach
Isaac Jean Paul has over eight years of competitive track and field experience. He has a visual impairment called juvenile retinoschisis which affects his peripheral and central vision. He took up track and field as a senior in high school and qualified for state championships in high jump and long jump in his first year. Paul then received a scholarship from Lewis University, where he was a five-time All-American for Lewis University in the high jump from 2014-2016 and also won the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship in high jump in 2015. Paul entered into Paralympic competition in 2017, competing in the 2017 and 2019 World Championships taking home three medals (gold, silver and bronze) in the High Jump and Long Jump. In the T/F-13 classification, Paul is the World Record Holder for the High Jump, jumping at 2.17m (7ft .1194 inches) and continues to pursue Paralympic competition. After his success at the World Championships in 2019, Paul began coaching for SDSU Adapted Athletics Ambulatory Track team as the Sprints Coach where he has coached several athletes to the National Championship level. Paul graduated from Lewis University (2016) with a B.S. in Sociology.
