Greg Hasterok
Wheelchair Tennis, Head Coach
Naturally right-handed, Greg Hasterok learned to play wheelchair tennis and wheelchair rugby left-handed after a motorcycle accident left him without grip in his right hand. Hasterok’s competitive wheelchair tennis career took off quickly after his accident. Since 2001 he has won two gold medals in the World Team Cup, which is the wheelchair equivalent of Davis/Fed Cup, and he has also been a U.S. National team member for over 10 years. Hasterok reached a career high in singles of 5 in the world and career high in doubles of 3 in the world. Strengthened by his experience in adapted sports, Greg started coaching juniors in 2005 in wheelchair sports as well as the gamut of skills to help improve the lives of youth with disabilities. He started coaching for SDSU Adapted Athletics in 2019. Greg is from San Diego and he graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s in Business Management (2004).
