This course is designed to introduce to students the different ways that yoga’s holistic and multi-faceted application can support a student/athlete in both body and mind. Each class will begin with seated meditation and breath practice, followed by a short lecture on the topic of the day, followed by a physical asana practice, and ending with relaxation/restoration. At the end of the semester, the goal is for the student/athlete to gain a greater understanding of their own needs and how they can apply specific yogic modalities to move more efficiently, breathe more effectively, and enhance self-agency for both life and athletic performance.
