Instruction in the practice of Martial Arts with an emphasis on safe body movements and practical self-defense. Conditioning, flexibility and repetition of movement will be promoted to aid the student in the development of proper techniques for self-defense and enhanced fitness. While Tae Kwon Do will be the core of study, several other martial arts styles will be introduced throughout the semester. After completion of the course, the student will have basic knowledge and skills that will allow for continued exploration of the martial arts. It is hopeful that students will leave this course with valuable lessons that they can apply directly to their studies and everyday life.
