Head Coach Recruitment

The San Diego State University Ice Hockey club team is currently recruiting for the vacant head coach position. The head coach will be responsible for the coordination and operations of the Associated Students of San Diego State University Ice Hockey Program. The team is highly competitive and competes within DI of the ACHA.

The primary areas of focus will be practice planning and implementation, game day coaching, individual player and team development; running and controlling team drills in a safe and effective manner; student-athlete recruitment and retention, assisting with fundraising, and working in coordination with the league, team officers and A.S. staff to develop the competition and travel schedule. The Head Coach must be available to travel on weekends during the competition season for home and away games. The position averages 8-12 hours per week and requires availability for morning, evening and weekend hours. 

The Head Coach is responsible for the enforcement of rules, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Sport Club Handbook as well as all duties associated with coaching a competitive collegiate club program. The successful candidate will be expected to enforce and comply with all policies and procedures established by Associated Students/SDSU, the Sports Club Program and American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) while serving as a positive role model for the program and SDSU.

This is a part-time hourly position starting at $20/hour, commensurate with experience.
