Kelly Sawyer
Class Instructor
Kelly is a lifelong athlete with a passion for empowering others through movement, discipline, and community. She played competitive soccer and water polo throughout community college before continuing with the UC San Diego Women’s Club Water Polo team while earning her B.S. in Management Science. Kelly later found her passion for boxing and is now a registered USA Boxer, certified USA Boxing Coach, and active competitor with numerous sanctioned fights. She also earned her M.S. in Finance from San Diego State University and plans to continue working at SDSU, where she remains deeply connected to the student community.
In her Boxing Fitness classes, Kelly combines endurance, technique, and strength training to create an inclusive, high-energy environment where students can challenge themselves both physically and mentally. As a student at heart, she strives to make her classes a safe and supportive space where participants can build confidence, relieve stress, and feel encouraged both inside and outside the gym. Her goal is for students to leave class feeling stronger, empowered, and supported beyond just their fitness goals.
